You are welcome to read and post to the public fora here. The public fora are meant to be used for the exchange of views and information on topics pertinent to the board topic as qualified by its description. Have fun, but bear in mind that this is a privately hosted non-commercial site existing at the whim of your host.

Your host is a curmudgeonly bastard. I will excise legally questionable material as I understand the law as quickly as is feasible once brought to my attention. But beyond that, I expect these boards to be used for *communication*. I will not tolerate spam, I have little patience for any of those who post solely to gain attention, or to drown out or disrupt discussion of which they do not approve. Posts and posters I regard as disruptive I will censor, suppress, or delete at my pleasure. I may choose to disable those logins or block the IP address. There is no "policy", there is no appeal. The site tagline reads "There are no promises made or broken here. This is what it is and I shall do as I do." I mean it exactly as written.

There is no privacy here. Like any web site, there are logs containing full IP addresses. Similarly the session tracking records IP addresses. Posts made here are recorded with the last two octets of IP address to discourage multi-nyming. I have certain standards of hospitality toward my guests including keeping confidences, but as said, there are no promises made or broken here.

The public boards here at Zen's Den are just that: public. And very. By posting here you are granting me right to reproduce your words anytime, anywhere, anyway. Forever. And you are granting anyone else license under the Creative Common Attribution ShareAlike 2.5 License which basically means anyone else can take it and publish it as long as they say where they got it, and let anyone else do the same (see the license for fine nuances). Similarly, this site is spider friendly. Once posted here, it's out there.

I may delete a post or make it invisible here because it offends me, or I think it is legally actionable, or possibly containing other's copyright, or I'm in a fey mood and just didn't like it. But this is the world wide web. And once published here, with the policies of this board, I am powerless to forstall its reproduction elsewhere. This is intentional. It reflects the realities of the internet. I can remove something from here, after the fact, but I can't recall it from the outside world. YOU and YOU alone are responsible for what you post here falling beyond either your or my control. I have simply provided a channel by which your post persists for a while on its way out into the wider world.
