IR IV SCOX 36655 by darlmclied I think the "deals" with Linux companies is pretty strong evidence that MS knows that they've lost the servers ... and probably a fair chunk of the corporate desktop market (though it will be a few years until penetration is significant). <cassandra_mode> Their next line of attack is a server-mode version of Office... which will run on Linux, but ONLY on Linux from their partners. The clients will need CAL's whether they run Windows or Linux. And the protocols will be protected with patent(claims), the EULA of the server version, and a DMCA enforcable encryption.
