I'm baaaaaaccccckkkk.     My crash wasn't as I feared the HD, it was a fried mobo dying in stages. Of course it cost me $200 more than I had planned to fix it, (mobo, prox and ram - the old was PC2700 which more recent mobo's don't to, and but now I have an extra 320G HD, always nice). The upside is that all my data are intact.
